What Correspond collects about you
Nothing. Correspond runs on your Mac. Meantime Studio has no servers for it, there is no Meantime account, and Meantime Studio does not receive your email, your contacts, your searches, or any identifier for you or your Mac.
No tracking, no advertising
Correspond contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash-reporting service, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs of any kind.
What stays on your Mac
Your mail, the search index built from it, and your settings are stored locally on your Mac. Account passwords and Google sign-in tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain.
Who Correspond talks to
- Your mail providers. Correspond connects directly to the providers of the accounts you add — IMAP and SMTP for iCloud and other providers, and Google for Gmail. It connects to nowhere else, apart from the AI providers described below if you choose to use them.
Remote images
Remote images in emails are blocked by default, so senders cannot tell that you opened a message.
AI features are optional
If you choose an AI provider — Apple's on-device model, Anthropic Claude, or OpenAI — only the content you ask it to work on is sent, directly from your Mac to that provider, under that provider's own terms. Apple's on-device model keeps the data on your device. If you choose no provider, nothing is sent.
AI agents on your Mac
Correspond includes a command-line tool and an MCP server for local AI agents. They run on your Mac with limited permissions: they can read your mail and write drafts, but they cannot send a message without your explicit approval, delete anything, or manage your accounts.
Google user data
If you add a Gmail account with Sign in with Google, Correspond asks for access to your Google account.
- What is accessed. Your Gmail messages, drafts, and the ability to send mail, through the
https://mail.google.com/scope, and the email address of the account you sign in with. - How it is used. Only to show, search, draft, and send your mail, on your device. Nothing is sent to Meantime Studio.
- What is not done with it. Google user data is not shared with third parties, not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI or machine-learning models.
Correspond's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data
Remove an account in Correspond to remove its mail and credentials from your Mac, or delete the app and its data folder to remove everything. To revoke Correspond's access to your Google account, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Children
Correspond is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date below.
